Hampton lacrosse enduring growing pains in second season

The first season of Hampton lacrosse was about breaking barriers. The second one has been about not letting barriers break the program.

Hampton’s fledgling program, the first at a Division I HBCU in NCAA history, is currently 1-5 following a 14-1 loss to Virginia Military Institute on Saturday.

The program is young literally and figuratively. Darrell Kidd is the lone senior on the team, and one of only four upperclassmen total.

Coach Lloyd Carter talked to HBCU Gameday about his team’s progress as it continues to try to find its footing.
