Last season Hampton entered the MEAC Tournament as underdogs. Next week, they’ll enter as favorites. The defending MEAC Champs head into the 2016 conference tournament at the Norfolk Scope as the top seed, and will play the UMES-Morgan State winner on Wednesday at 6 P.M.
Nearby rival Norfolk State, the de facto home team of the tournament, will start as the second seed, and get the winner of Tuesday’s Howard vs. North Carolina Central matchup.
South Carolina State came in third place and will play the North Carolina A&T/Coppin State winner. The last bye goes to Bethune-Cookman, who will play the Savannah State/Delaware State winner.
