The Black College Football Hall of Fame announced the finalists for its fifth class today and the Pittsburgh Steelers were well-represented. Three of the twenty nominees were members of the 1970s squads that won four Super Bowl Championships in a single decade.  Two former Steelers, quarterback Joe Gilliam and defensive back Mel Blount, are already enshrined.

This list is pretty SWAC heavy, as 11 of the nominees hail from schools that either currently or formerly competed in the conference. The Class of 2014 will be officially introduced on October 23.
