Just over a month after being suspended following a DWI arrest, North Carolina A&T announced that quarterback Lewis Kindle has been reinstated to the team. Kindle, who was arrested on campus for driving with a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit on July 5, will have to sit out the season opener against Appalachian State according to report by the Greensboro News & Record.

“The charges against Kindle, considered a first-time offender, have been resolved through a student judicial committee and will result in him performing community service. Kindle had a court date scheduled for Aug. 26. ”

In addition to his one-game suspension, Kindle will also have to speak to middle school students about the importance of good decision making. This will be the second season in a row that Kindle will start suspended, as he missed the season-opener against Coastal Carolina last season after violating team rules.

After being suspended from all football activities immediately following his suspension, Kindle returned to the practice field on Monday. He completed 54 percent of his passes last year for 1,341 yards. He also threw three touchdown passes and 11 interceptions will leading A&T to a 7-3 mark as a starter.
